I've been so busy crocheting, and getting my crochet business off the ground. So far so good. I've created alot of crochet addicts and I love it! So many people have told me that they have tried and tried to learn crochet from books, websites with illustrations, but couldn't do it. And when they got my videos, they were crocheting within minutes and were soooooooo happy!

Well, I will have to post pictures of my latest projects in my next post...until then, happy crocheting!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1120149875549610872005-06-30T09:28:00.000-07:002005-06-30T11:07:46.723-07:00Having Fun!It's very hot and humid here in NH, but I'm still having alot of fun with my crocheting. I'm also have SO much fun in my Forum We just finished our 2nd mystery crochet along! That is where we swapped patterns, without the pictures and had to guess as we were doing the pattern what we were working on...it has been alot of fun!

I've also been doing up alot of projects. I just finished this bucket hat. It was a very easy pattern! This will be for my mother to match her poncho that I made her this spring.

Here is a tissue box cover that I also just finished. I really loved doing this project. It's even cuter in person!!!!!! I'll be making quite a few of these for gifts.

This floor mat was my first mystery pattern.....I love it and plan on making more of these also!

I have recently been working on creating some of my own patterns and this is my very first one. It's a potholder/hotpad.

I would love to have more of you crocheters join my forum...we really do have alot of fun there. And for those of you who don't crochet, I have instructional videos that you can find here I also have Project Videos for those that really have a hard time reading and understanding patterns. The ones available right now are a Hat, Socks, and a Beach Bag which I just finished. We really do have alot of fun and really enjoy crocheting together, helping each other out and watching others making great projects! I'm really having fun meeting and getting to know everyone!

I have been working on some projects since my last post. Here are a few of them:

I needed a tote to carry my crochet stuff in when I go out and have to wait in offices, or my car etc..

I ran out yarn making a project, don't remember what at the moment, so I grabbed some baby yarn I had and made this jumper.

This is a onesie that I really loved making! Can you tell I love making baby items?! LOL

I just finished this baby set in the last 15 minutes. I figured I should do a boy outfit since it seems I'm mosting doing girl things! :)

Right now I am working on a summer top for myself..however I ran out of yarn as I mentioned above...and I think it may be too big for me. So, I will have to get more yarn to make it a bit smaller for myself...but I'm committed to making something to wear for myself! It's a pretty baby green color and it's a pretty shell pattern. Stay tuned, more to come.

If you would like to learn to crochet, you can visit my Website You will be crocheting within minutes of watching the video and soon you will be able to make your own beautiful projects. There's nothing like the feeling of accomplishment when you finish a project, and better yet, when you give your items as a gift to a friend or family member. Gifts made from the heart are the best gifts to receive!

Until the next post.....
Happy Crocheting!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1116505562207748332005-05-19T06:57:00.000-07:002005-05-19T05:44:39.216-07:00Small ProjectsWell, now that I have finished that afghan (previous post), I've had even more time to work on my Crochet Forum and my new Crochet Pattern Directory. I'm trying to make the directory the one-stop directory for patterns. It has everything you can think of! I will be continually adding new patterns as they arise. Also my Learn Crochet Now Site is getting a new makeover. This is a site where you can get crochet videos to help you learn to crochet when books and pictures just don't cut it. It's much easier to learn by actually seeing it done close-up and personal! :)

I've also been very busy doing some projects. Since finishing the "Vintage Popcorn Granny" afghan, (my friend absolutely LOVED it), I have been wanting to work on smaller projects. Not ready to do a "big" project just yet. Here is a crochet hook case that I really needed to organize my hooks. This was challenging to make, but fun at the same time!

One thing I absolutely love making is baby clothes, especially dresses...so here's a dress that I really enjoyed making!

I needed a tote to carry all my crocheting supplies in when I go out..so I made this tote.

I made this remote caddy to have another place to put them rather than laying on the table.

I thought this was cute when I saw the pattern, so I decided to make myself one!

I also thought this was cute so I made one for my kids bathroom since the paper rolls are usually thrown all over the floor. Now there's a nice neat place to keep them. And I also made one for my mother...

So, as you can see, I've been busy. Right now I'm working on a rug for the kids bathroom......It's coming along nicely.......

Well, now I need to get some cleaning done so I can go back to my crocheting..LOL :)

Happy Crocheting!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1115898986178806932005-05-12T07:45:00.000-07:002005-05-12T04:56:26.216-07:00Projects and more projectsWell besides keeping my Forum and my Crochet Pattern Directory up to date, I've been working on 3 different projects. I'm working on a granny yoke baby dress, a tote, and a crochet hook case that we started on last night in the crochet along. I can't wait to get each one done!

I sent out the Vintage Popcorn Granny afghan out yesterday and hopefully it'll get to my friend by her birthday. I can't wait til she gets it..I wish I could be there to see the look on her face!

Well, even though my Forum is faily new, I have 63 members and I would love to have alot more...so if you love to crochet and want to have a neat place to come to, we'd love to have you! We do crochet alongs and I love pictures, so whenever someone finishes a project, we post a picture of it so everyone can see everyone's lovely work! My Crochet Pattern Directory has loads of patterns to choose from..........believe me, it's hard to choose with all those patterns. If you want to learn to crochet and have not been successful with books or pictures....I have a site that has videos that teach you to crochet as if you were sitting right there learning. It has close up video of how stitches are made and where they are put..There are 6 videos to choose from for your level of crochet......so, if you've been wanting to learn, check out my Crochet Website.

Pictures of my projects to come soon!

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1115305376582499172005-05-05T08:02:00.000-07:002005-05-06T18:51:58.466-07:00Finally!I have finally finished the "Vintage Popcorn Granny Afghan" that I was making for my friend for her birthday surprise. I will ship it out May 11th!

It came out so pretty, I'm really pleased with it. It's hard to see in the picture, but there is green around the popcorns...

Right now, I am working on a beach bag for my next video. Hopefully that will be ready for release next week. I figured since the warmer weather is coming, it would be nice to make something that we can use during the summer season! This bag is not from a pattern...just doing it on my own with granny squares.

If you want to learn to crochet your own beautiful projects..you can visit my Website I have received nothing but wonderful comments on how people have tried to learn other ways, unsuccessfully, and have learned very quickly following my videos! That makes me feel soooo good! And if you already crochet, I have a Crochet Forum We'd love to have more members joining...we have alot of fun there. And we are all crochet addicts..LOL You don't have to be a experienced crocheter to join the forum. We have crochet alongs which is great for that not so experienced crocheter...we have alot of patterns to look at, and we have a fun place for you to visit! Please join in the fun, I'd love to have you!

If you enjoy looking for patterns..here's a great Site with lots of patterns!

Well, guess it's time to get back to my beach tote!

Happy Crocheting!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1115304361577730592005-05-05T07:46:00.000-07:002005-05-05T07:46:01.580-07:00Absolutely the cutest! This recent project has to be absolutely the cutest baby set I've ever done! I just saw it one day and had to make it. I bought the yarn Wednesday and Wednesday evening it was done. It's so much fun to work and very quick also. Once you get started, you can't stop!

I also just finished a hat that I made for my hat video. This is project 2 in my line of videos. This one takes you through the creation of this hat since I know it's much easier to follow along than reading a pattern! You can see my line of videos at my Website

You can also visit my Forum It's really a fun place to come and talk crochet, get lots of patterns and show off your projects!

I'm still working on my "Vintage Popcorn Granny" Afghan for my friend. Putting the black rounds on now...it's going to be pretty when it's done! Time to go visit friends in my forum...

Happy Crocheting!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1113929304355159662005-04-19T00:32:00.000-07:002005-04-19T09:51:06.266-07:00Ahhh, Warm WeatherOh how I love the warm weather. Finally warming up a bit here in NH. Although it's always perfect crocheting weather in the winter, I do look forward to the warmer weather. And I plan to continue on my crocheting projects. I have so many things on my "to do" list that I'm just going to knock them off one at a time. I usually wait until there's a need for something...like a baby coming to make baby things. Well, I'm not doing that anymore. I'm just going to make all the things I think are cute and I'll have them whenever the need comes up.

I've already got a great start on Christmas....in fact, I may even be done! LOL I have to check my inventory though.

I'm still working on the "Vintage Popcorn Granny Square" afghan, and I should have it ready for shipment to my friend by May 11th.

I just finished a paperback book cover tote that was a crochet along in my Forum. I really love this little tote, no one can spy on what you are reading at the beach or wherever you might be.. :)

Right now, I am working on a hat, but mostly working on the popcorn afghan. Well, that's about it in my crochet happy world...If you are interested in learning to crochet..and don't know where to start..you might want to check out my Website There is a variety of videos that you can learn from and you'll be crocheting in no time. I've received SO many responses back from people that have used my videos to learn crochet and they are so excited that they now know how to crochet....especially after trying to learn from books or pictures and directions. These videos are the way to go! Until next time...Happy Crocheting!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1113578898861588462005-04-15T08:28:00.000-07:002005-04-15T08:28:18.860-07:00Sunsuit completed!

Well, I've completed the sunsuit I've been working on...I added some socks to go with the sunsuit! I was pleased with the way it came out.

I am now working on a paperback book cover that we are working on as a crochet along project in my Forum. It's using a basket weave design and coming along nicely. I'd love to have you join my Forum
We have a lot of fun there!

I've just put out another video on my Crochet Website
This video is a sock video. It takes you step by step through the creation of a sock. I picked the sock because socks can be a difficult project to complete. I think the next video will be a hat since I had a request for that.

I'm still working on the Vintage Popcorn Granny Afghan for my friend. I only have 4 more weeks to get it done..so I will be working on that a little more often in the next few weeks! I can't wait to see it when it's done..it has some pretty colors in it...... Pretty soon I'm going to have to find a scrap yarn project to do..my leftover yarn stash is building up...LOL

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1113149105210367332005-04-10T09:05:00.000-07:002005-04-10T10:16:22.396-07:00I'm still here...I've just been busy with the Crochet Forum and the Crochet Site. Things are going well on those fronts. I've been working on alot of projects also. When I went to see my mother last weekend, she saw the poncho I made for myself and love it. She asked if I could make her one...so......say no more!!!! I was thrilled to make another one. Here's how her's turned out.... She loved it.

She's going to Maine to visit her best friend and staying with her for the spring/summer...so I wanted to do something for her friend. I made ponchos for her grandchildre. The poncho and hat set that is in a previous post will go to the 8 year old granddaughter, then I made a poncho yesterday for the toddler. It came out pretty cute!

In my Crochet Forum we did a crochet along working on a granny square bag. The all came out really nice. Here's mine:

Right now I am working on a baby sunsuit for my niece's baby that is due next month. So I need to have that done as well as my friend's popcorn granny square afghan. The afghan is coming along great!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1112277871721261282005-03-31T09:04:00.000-08:002005-03-31T06:04:31.723-08:00I'm still here crocheting!I'm still working on my friend's Popcorn Granny Square Afghan, but also working on other things. I just finished 2 pair of socks, one for my youngest son, and one for my husband. They are always asking for these socks.

We are having a crochet along in my Forum doing these socks, so I will be making another pair for my oldest son.

My Crochet Website has been remodeled. It looks much better now. And the videos have been really doing well. We're getting nothing but really good feedback from the customers!

I've ditched the baby afghan for the time being. I needed that yarn for some other projects. There is a baby's sunsuit that I would like to start on...but I need to check my yarn stash to see if I have enough of the right yarn to make it.

If you are a crochet addict, come visit me in my Forum! We really have alot of fun there. And we have scheduled chat sessions too!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1111937784464464932005-03-27T10:25:00.000-08:002005-03-27T07:36:24.466-08:00Learn Crochet Now Vol. 3 Released!Well, my 3rd crochet video has been released! I've been getting nothing but good emails back from people that are so excited that they are learning to crochet with my videos. They all had a hard time trying to learn with written instructions and patterns, but say it's so easy to learn with my video. That makes me feel so good.....and I'm so happy to have more people join me in my crocheting addiction! :) The Vol. 3 is a list of about 20 stitches that are common in alot of patterns. The videos are available through download, CD and DVD! My website has been updated and you can find alot of crocheting information there!

Well, I've finished my "Freedom" poncho! I'm happy with the way it came out. This is the first time I've ever made an item for myself. I even wore it out yesterday! It's very warm. You can find the pattern on my website in the forum.

My next project is another poncho which may be used in another video. I'm also still working on my friend's surprise birthday present..the "Vintage Popcorn Granny Afghan". The colors are so pretty in that afghan. Very spring-like!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1111594971739126122005-03-23T11:13:00.000-08:002005-03-23T08:25:44.363-08:00Martha Stewart's "Freedom" PonchoWell, we've started the Poncho Crochet Along in my Crochet Forum! I've chosen to do the Martha "Freedom" poncho since I liked it when I saw her get on that plane. I'm doing the Lion Brand's version of the poncho in their Homespun yarn. The color is called Baroque, and it's more of a plum purple color....not as purpley as the picture looks.

This pattern is a very easy pattern and I'm really enjoying working on it. I've worked with homespun yarn before and thought it was difficult to work with, but I've noticed, doing this poncho, if you make your stitches loose enough, it's alot easier to deal with.

Along with this poncho, I am still working on my friend's Vintage Popcorn Granny Afghan. I'm also working on (though not as much as the other projects) the afghan stitch baby afghan. I really haven't gotten too far on that since I've been concentrating mostly on the poncho and popcorn afghan.

The Learn Crochet Now Line of Videos is doing very well. There are alot of people that want to learn the art of crochet and it looks like (from what customers have written back) I have many more crochet addicts joining me..LOL The videos are available by download, CD's and DVD's. If you want to learn crochet, check out the Video Selection

Well, back to my poncho :)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1111415683462163302005-03-21T09:36:00.000-08:002005-03-21T06:53:24.423-08:00Slow going...Well, the afghan stitch afghan is going quite slow. I decided to make the blanket first and then cross stitch the pattern on it rather than crocheting the pattern in. Just seems like it would go faster for me.

The popcorn granny afghan is a quick one..I have about 60 squares done. I would have more done, but I've been so busy with my crochet forum: http://www.learn-crochet-now.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi
Feel free to join if you love to crochet...the more the merrier!!! There's lots of information there.
I've also been busy with the new videos that I have released: www.learn-crochet-now.com

The videos have been very well recieved, so shortly, they will be available on cd's as well as dvd's! I'm very excited about this venture. And, there is another video coming out that includes alot of the stitches that you see in alot of patterns out there! This should be a really good one!

As for my other projects...I just finished a tote which was for the "crochet along" in my forum. It looked too boring just being white, so I added the rose to "spiff" it up a bit.

The next crochet along in my forum will be the Martha Stewart "Freedom" Poncho (in the "patterns" section).

Happy Crocheting!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1111028939334050932005-03-16T18:53:00.000-08:002005-03-16T19:08:59.336-08:00Learn Crochet Now, Volume 2 Released!
Learn Crochet Now Volume 2 (Granny Squares) Released!
I'm so happy to announce that our "Learn Crochet Now" Volume 2 (Granny Squares) video has been released. Like Volume 1, it is downloadable for instant access and better yet, no shipping or handling charges to worry about.

This video guides you step by step in making a granny square, changing colors, and joining the granny squares. I'm very excited about this video because there are so many things you can do with granny squares. An example of this is the poncho and hat set shown in a previous post. Download your copy and you can be making your own granny squares in minutes!

You can find all the information you need at: http://www.learn-crochet-now.com

I bought the yarn for the charted baby afghan I want to make and have started it tonight. I have to say, working with an afghan hook and the afghan stitches, sure is different. It seems to be more time consuming. Maybe because it's just strange being something different. I'm going to keep going and see how I like it. I will post a picture as I get further into the pattern.

I have also started a tote as part of a crochet along that we started in my Crochet Happy forum:
http://www.learn-crochet-now.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi I will also post a picture of that when I finish it.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1110824032527464022005-03-14T01:13:00.000-08:002005-03-14T12:28:37.763-08:00My New Crochet ForumWell, I've opened my new crochet forum. I'm very excited about it. I love talking with other crochet addicts, see what projects they are working on and see their finished projects. I have a crochet along which I think will be alot of fun and also a chat! Once I really get going, I'd like to have monthly contests for the members. That would be alot of fun. If you love to crochet or want to learn, (I also have some "learn to crochet" videos) and want to join a great group of people, come check us out! It also has the Martha Stewart Poncho Pattern!

http://www.learn-crochet-now.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi

Happy Crocheting!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1110639100614249932005-03-12T09:59:00.000-08:002005-03-12T07:38:31.760-08:00Martha Stewart's PonchoWell, Marth Stewart's Poncho pattern has finally been published. I remember seeing her when she got out and boarding that plane. I remember thinking that's a great poncho and then saying to myself...I bet people are gonna go crazy looking for that pattern. So, I went to some crochet forums and sure enough.....everyone was dying to get the pattern, or trying to duplicate it! Here's where you can find the pattern:
http://www.learn-crochet-now.com/index1.html
If you want to learn to crochet so you can make this poncho or other lovely things, get started crocheting here also. There's a downloadable video that teaches you basic crocheting, and there's a granny square video coming out early next week. It's a very easy to follow, step by step crochet video. It's alot easier than trying to read directions or follow pictures!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1110580141765878962005-03-11T14:21:00.000-08:002005-03-11T14:37:55.016-08:00It has arrived!Well, I got my afghan hook in the mail and I can't wait to get started on that baby afghan. I didn't get any yarn for that afghan Thursday since I didn't have the hook yet, but I did get some yarn for the "surprise" afghan for my friend's birthday. It's called the "Vintage Popcorn Granny Afghan". The colors are purple, pink, blue, yellow with green and black. Here's a sample of the square (without the black since I didn't get the black yarn yet). The round after the purple popcorn round looks black, but it's actually green. Then it will have black bordering. I will post more pictures as I go along. You can find this pattern at: http://www.maggiescrochet.com/pages/Afghans/afghan_page5.htm

I will work on this until I get yarn for the baby afghan, then I'll work on them both. And I'm still working on the cable knit scrap afghan. Guess I'll be busy for awhile! :)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1110298848644386762005-03-08T11:21:00.000-08:002005-03-08T08:24:26.390-08:00Just waitingI'm just waiting for tomorrow when I head out to the store to get yarn for the next project. I'll be starting that chart pattern baby afghan. I FINALLY found an afghan hook. I did more searching on the internet and found someone who had just the size I wanted for $1.75 + $2.00 shipping. This is a bargain! I found one on another site and the price for that was $3.75 with $8.00 for shipping!! I couldn't believe it! So, I was very happy to find one that reasonable. So, hopefully I'll get that by the weekend so I can start on the baby afghan. I will also work on my friends birthday afghan. I recieved the pattern in the mail yesterday. Her birthday is in May, so I need to get started on that as well. So I'll have 3 projects going on at once....the cable knit afghan is still being worked on. I'm on my 3rd strip of that. I have a pink strip, blue and working on a white one.

I swear I'm like an alcoholic when it comes to crocheting and getting yarn and patterns. To me, it's the ultimate gift. I'm a simple person, just buy me yarn..and you'll make my day!!! But for some reason, people don't think it's much of a gift, so they don't end up buying it, and buy me something else that I really don't need. LOL

Oh well.....my next yarn fix is coming tomorrow!

Happy Crocheting!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1110150363462255082005-03-06T17:59:00.000-08:002005-03-06T15:06:03.463-08:00Sitting IdleWell, I finished the hat to go with the poncho. It turned out really cute.

Now that the hat is done...I only have one on-going project and that is the scrap yarn cable knit afghan.

I will continue with the knitted afghan until I get going on my next project. I'm still trying to obtain an afghan hook. So far, the ebay auctions haven't worked out and I've searched a bit on the internet to no avail. I have everyone looking in stores for me. :) But no one has found one yet. But when I do get it, I will start that baby afghan that I've been talking about.

I've been really busy and not doing too much crocheting/knitting the last few nights and I'm having withdrawls. I think I will spend my entire night tonight just working on the scrap yarn afghan.

Here's another site that has fun patterns! http://www.caron.com/free.htmlUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1109867730590448962005-03-03T11:25:00.000-08:002005-03-03T13:41:29.836-08:00Mission AccomplishedWell, I finished the poncho. After I finished it, I thought it would be really cute to have a hat to match. So I will be working on that today. I love the poncho..it came out sooo nice and I love the colors. I just wish I knew someone I could give it to. My nieces are all in the 20's and their kids are too small. This poncho is for an 8-10 year old.

I enjoyed making that one so much, I'm going to look up more poncho patterns and find some for my nieces kids. I think they would be so cute! Here's a site where I'll be looking for more ponchos to make: http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/ponchos.php

I put in a bid for the afghan hook that is up for auction. Only .99 so far. It ends in 11 hours. I'm hoping to get it since I want to get started on the charting pattern. I'll keep you posted!

I am still working on the cable knit afghan that I'm using my scrap yarn for. I have almost 2 strips done...one pink, and a blue one.

Happy CrochetingUnknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1109691403031012152005-03-01T10:33:00.000-08:002005-03-02T17:34:48.390-08:00Yet Another Snow StormYep, another snow storm here in NH. The kids are home from school. Today is the perfect day to crawl up on the couch and crochet! :) And I think that is exactly what I'm going to do. I've got my "chores" done and I'm free for the rest of the day.

Last night I finished all my squares for the poncho, so today I will sew the all together and hopefully finish the poncho.

I'm watching another afghan hook up for auction that ends tonight. Unfortunately, it ends around midnight or so when I'll be in la-la land! I will put a bid in before I go to bed and see what happens. If I don't get it, there is one more I'm watching.
The only problem with that is the next one is 14" long. And I'm not sure how awkward that would be working with one so long. The one that ends tonight is 10".

Well, I think it's time to head to the couch......but I want to leave you with a site with some great patterns:

http://www.ljccrochetdesigns.com/Patterns.htmlUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1109629053285537252005-02-28T17:10:00.000-08:002005-02-28T14:17:33.286-08:00Busy DayIt was a busy day with cleaning and baking and other things one has to do everyday in the house. But I did have some time for crocheting............I always MAKE time for crocheting! I'm adding the last round of the granny squares, and then I will be ready to sew them together.

I ordered that Vintage Popcorn Granny Afghan pattern yesterday and I can't wait to get it. I'm also watching ebay to get an afghan hook so I can start working on the pattern from the charts since they are mostly made with the afghan stitch. I'm also looking into software that could help me design my own patterns........that's something I'd really like to try.

Well, my free time is here, and I'm sure you can guess what I'll be doing with that free time!

Happy Crocheting!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1109522868107073182005-02-27T08:40:00.000-08:002005-02-27T08:53:39.843-08:00Preparing...I'm preparing to get started on my baby afghan from a chart. I needed an afghan hook which is different than a regular crochet hook. It's a crochet hook with the end looking like a knitting needle. This is needed to do the afghan stitch which is required for the charting afghans. So, I looked on-line, and I'm watching a couple of hooks on ebay. One auction will be over in 10 hours....so we'll see how that goes. I also ordered a pattern from maggies pattern site:
http://www.maggiescrochet.com/pages/Afghans/afghan_page5.htm
I ordered the popcorn granny square pattern for a friend of mine that saw it and loves it. She has no idea that I'm making it for her birthday in May. Whenever I mention that I'm looking for a new pattern to work on, she always brings up that pattern because she thinks it's beautiful and that I'd be able to sell it on my site. I can't wait to make it and ship it out to her!!! But first things first...I will buy the yarn I need for that baby afghan fromt he charts on Wednesday and Thursday. Hopefully shortly thereafter, I will get the afghan hook, and then I can get started.

But, I am still working on the poncho. I finished the front last night and will continue working on it today. The pattern that I'm using as a reference said it was sized for an 8 year old...but as I was working on it...it looked small, so I thought I'd be able to give it to my niece's 3 year old..but once I had the front done...it really does look too big for a 3 year old....so, I will add it to my
Afghans -n- More site where I sell items that I make.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10884525.post-1109435090139619702005-02-26T11:19:00.000-08:002005-03-03T10:22:13.750-08:00Laid to RestI sewed 4 strips of the rose/hexagon afghan together and realized it would be too bulky if I continued to make it a full sized afghan. The roses are big and it's just too much. So, I left it as is, with the 4 strips and will used it for a lapghan, or even a "shoulderghan" as my son named it.

So, now I'm on to other things. I've decided since I have some of the yarn left over from that afghan, I would use it for something else. I've been wanting to make a poncho, and saw a pattern that was a poncho made from granny squares. So, that is what I'm doing. They are small granny squares (about 3.5") and are purple, sherbert and white. I will just make a small one to fit my niece's daughter who's 3. The colors are really pretty together...I'll take a picture of it when I'm done.

While doing that, I've been looking at patterns again (my favorite pastime), and came across the pattern I want to make for that same niece who is having another girl. It's made from a chart which will be the first time I attempt that. It's a bear holding a balloon and it says "It's a Girl". The site I found the pattern on is the previous post. I will go get the yarn for that when I'm done with the poncho. I can't wait to get started on it! I will keep you posted!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
